A really unusual specimen of boulder ironstone with bright hints of color throughout the stone surrounding a large blob of brilliant gem quality green blue opal. Stone can be cut and polished or left as an amazing specimen. Pieces like this are rare collector’s items because boulder opal only comes from one area on the planet, and that is western Queensland, Australia. Because of the price of fuel, it is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to find this opal, which gives an indication as to the value of these specimens. If you don’t have a chunk of boulder opal in your collection, you are really missing out.
