Are the photos on the site realistic representations of the stones? |
Every computer screen is slightly different, so we cannot guarantee that you are seeing the colours exactly as they are in reality. However we can guarantee that the photos are not doctored to make the opals appear better than they do in reality. For laptops you will achieve the most accurate view of the stones by keeping the laptop screen just slightly tilted back from perpendicular. If the screen is tilted too far back, it will result in very dark graphics which are not accurate. To do a test, please go to http://www.opalmine.com/opals-encyclopedia-1.php and adjust your screen so that the fingers holding the boulder opal and the blue color of the stone, look the most natural to your eye.
