| Can you guarantee that the color and pattern shown in the graphics of your database? |
|
No, we cannot guarantee that. Please remember that when opal is being photographed it is necessary to catch the flash of color in it's best light so that our customers can see what they are buying. Keep in mind though that opal is a very difficult stone to photograph. The colors leap back and forth, disappearing and reappearing. The pictures on the site do not give you a full picture of the stone. From some angles there is no color at all. From others the color could be brighter than the graphic. Computer graphics certainly help our customers to see what they are getting before it comes, but it in no way tells the full story. Usually the pattern and presentation is much more appealing in the actual stone, but sometimes the color may not be the same. Computer screens vary as well. For laptops you will achieve the most accurate view of the stones by keeping the laptop screen just slightly tilted back from perpendicular. Please inquire when sending your order if you would like clarification. You may find it helpful calibrate your computer monitor. This will give you the same viewing characteristics that we have when we photograph the opals. Please also keep in mind that some lcd screens have different shades of color at different viewing angles. Back to FAQ Menu |
