You can get a more comprehensive opinion and description of your item which costs $25 You can have your item or items analyzed professionally using the "smart chart" valuation system with a full printout showing all size and carat details. Of course the weights and sizes will depend on the accuracy of your own measuring, keeping in mind that there are 5 carats to a gram and we can assess the weight based on gram and metric information. This costs $50 per item You can purchase the "smart chart" yourself for $150, and do your own valuations. You can use the information in www.opalmine.com to identify your opal. In all cases, more accurate assessments can only be made if the picture you submit to us is accurate. In which case you will need to get a digital camera of reasonable quality which has macro.
