Boulder Opal Description

This stunning top quality multi colored black boulder opal is one of a kind and comes from the Western Queensland Opal fields. Dramatic reds, oranges, greens, scarlets, purples and just about any other color you can think of like this are the rarest of any type of opal. Small ironstone inclusions in the face testify to its natural origins. Slight ironstone inclusions in the face testify to its being a natural opal, not interfered with human hands, except to polish out of the natural rock.

The price of Opal, unlike many gemstones is influenced by supply and demand, not by international cartels who agree on price increases. Hence, opal is destined to go up in value as the supply becomes more restricted which is happening at present. The color of these stones is completely natural, in contrast to diamonds [for example] which depends on man-made facets to reflect the spectrum colors.
