This outstanding piece of full color boulder opal is ready to receive its final cleanup before the sanding and polishing procedure begins. If you take a close look, you will notice some remnants of ironstone in the foreground, giving a hint that the stone is still not completed. There is no doubt in my mind that these inclusions will come out with some careful cleaning, meaning that you will end up with a perfect boulder opal gem. The approximate shape of the rubbed piece is of course oval and this would be the most economical way of completing it. A conservative estimate for this stone when completed is around $1500. Priced at $600 it is a bargain and there is little or no risk in the final completion.
