Amazing solid fossil opal carving from Coober Pedy surrounded by rubies and diamonds.

Many of the opals found in outback Australia are actually fossils of all types of sea creatures, mainly shells and sea snails. These valuable items are in high demand by collectors all over the world, particularly opals like the one in this ring which has perfect color without other inclusions, as most of these fossils have sandshot inclusions. This piece was discovered possibly 30 to 40 years ago and has been manufactured as an amazing ring for a girl who likes large jewelry. Often opal is accompanied by adjunct stones such as small diamonds but in this case the adjuncts are interspersed with rubies along with the diamonds, and set in 14k yellow gold. The framework which cannot be seen at the back of this opal is amazing.
