This pair of boulder opals from the Koroit fields in western Queensland would have to be two of the most interesting collectors pieces i have seen. The opal 'nut' has been sawn in the middle and polished, revealing a cavity on one side and facinating patterns and shapes and opal color on the other. They would make an intriquing pair of heavy earrings, or could be fashioned into many different types of jewelry, or indeed, left as they are for the sake of a superb collectors item.
